Summer healthy eating
If you are a regular reader of the Hydropool Staffordshire blog, you’ll know we’re keen on all things to make us feel better. From getting better sleep to recovering sports injuries, we want to make it our mission to help your body and mind feel fantastic. And when it comes to these summer months, one of the main things we can all do to help is eat a little better.
During winter, it can be very difficult to get into a healthy eating routine. Cold nights call for hearty stews, luscious red wine and great servings of crumble and custard. However, when the days get longer and the temperature rises, we can all feel better opting for lighter options with our food and drink. Out come the creative pasta salads, the cooling fresh drinks with lashings of ice and the bright, fresh fruits of summer. And it all makes us feel so much better!
Start the day right with a delicious smoothie, for example. Whether you have a specific smoothie maker or simple stick blender, just grab a couple of your favourite fruits and whizz them up with water, orange juice or milk for a speedy, healthy breakfast. You could pop a couple of strawberries, a banana and some orange juice in, for instance. Super simple and super healthy.
Opt for less bread too – it will make you feel less bloated on hot days- and instead go for fresh salad, cous cous or quinoa at lunchtime, finishing your day with a fresh pasta salad, grilled fish or stuffed peppers for dinner. Being healthy doesn’t have to be over-complicated, and the flavours are divine.
And, don’t forget to treat yourself to a soak in your Hydropool tub at the end of the day for being oh so good!
